I think I'm in love with Damian. But not Bernard, you can have Bernard. No offence.

*rushes off to get "Damian" tattooed on her arm. In a heart. And watch The Omen again*

But of course, Rachie, I meant mid-nineties in a GOOD way. Yes i did. Mhm.

And what could be more nineties than a tattoo of a portrait of fat boy slim, which I will now be getting, in repentance for dissing the swirly sun (which is of course the only thing I ever actually nearly got)

Yes. A portrait of Fat Boy Slim's face. ON MY FACE.

How fucking freaky would that be?

Ahem. I had a swirly sun tattooed onto my ankle. In 1994. I had no idea they were a mid-nineties phenomenon, but clearly I have been living in a box for the last 12 years. I still like it though. It's very orange and yellow and sunny, and it makes me happy.

By the way, I once sat behind a guy on a bus who had a bar code and 'made in Hull' tattooed on the back of his neck. Maybe you could get a stick of rock or something? Or a fish. Or a portrait of FatBoy Slim. Just a thought.

Oh, and I have a little Celtic pattern thing on my right shoulder blade. I was well into my 30s when I had it done, and don't regret it for a minute. You know you want to.

Salutary tale: I was once a sort of Inspector thing, and at one of the factories I went to a bloke had a nasty accident with a shearing machine, and is going through the rest of his life with 'LOVE' and 'HAT' tattooed on his knuckles. Sounds like an urban myth, doesn't it, but is a true story.

At the same place, a bloke had a self-inflicted tattoo with a wolf's head and 'WOVLES FC' on his arm. He'd had it for at least 10 years and hadn't noticed. How is this possible? I regret pointing it out to him now. If ignorance is bliss he was right up there with the Dalai Lama.

It's all your fault that I've had 'Lydia the Tattooed Lady', as sung by Kermit, going round in my head all week!

Lydia the Tattooed lady is an excellent song. Familiarise yourself with it immediately. I recommend the Muppets version.
